Question

Problems with CNET remembering me

Jun 19, 2015 11:10AM PDT

I'm having problems posting in the general feedback forum, so I'm trying here instead.

It seems that even though I check the "remember me" box every time I log into CNET, after a few days I get logged out somehow. This does not happen with any other sites and forums I frequent (banking sites, web emails, reddit, etc.). Only CNET seems to have a problem remembering me. What gives?

Thanks for reporting this.

Do you happen to blow your cookies away at certain times? If you do, then the "remember me" will not stick.

Because the "Remember me" feature does store a cookie in your browser so that it remembers your login.

The "remember me" should last up to a year before it expires.

Let me know

also need to allow 3rd party cookies

Once you have that, since cbs who now owns cnet wants to plant a cookie too, then you can turn off 3rd party cookies so you don't get them from everyone else.
