Problems with Canon Elura 100

Jul 5, 2007 9:16AM PDT

Hello, I've been having sudden problems with my Canon Elura 100. The camcorder is completely unresponsive. Even when I hook it up to the charger it does nothing. I just took out the battery and thought maybe taking it out and putting it back in would help, but nothing. In the process of doing that, I noticed the camcorder was quite warm (bordering on hot) to the touch in the area where the battery is.

This all happened shortly after I was trying to download video from the camera to my PC for the first time. I had just installed a firewire card on my PC and connected the camcorder to the PC in order to try and capture video. It would not work and my PC would not recognized the camcorder. I don't know if this has anything to do with the camcorder being completely unresponsive. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
