Problems with a D-link DI-624

Mar 11, 2005 5:48AM PST

I have a D-Link DI-624 WI-Fi router. The problem I'm having with it is this. As soon as I turn on the Wi-Fi radio my two other hard wired computer keep dropping connection long enough for messenger, and Trillian to disconnect then reconnect. Also I get the little bubble windows popping up saying that local area connect has been disconnected. Can any one give me an idea as to what would be causing this?

You've tweaked the settings a lot. Is it "stock"?

Would be helpful if you post your router config too.

Since I'm on DSL, and they use PPPoE, that information is in the router. All the settings are stock and for my ISP, they don't lock to the internet MAC address, but I set it anyway. For the Wifi connections I use the MAC filtering option.

- The firmware is the latest.
- The unit is set upright to give it the best chance of heat dissipation.
- No setting was changed from stock that was not required for it to connect.
- The admin/password name/password was changed from its factory setting.

Have you try to disable all security first and see if they work? They might be a setting in the router not set up correctly.

You asked me for the router configuration. Let me assure you that I don't have any issue with my setup that I know about.

I think I got it working.

After reading all your posts I also came to the conclusion that there must be a setting that was out. So I reset the router back to Factory setting and it seems to be working. I don't what was wrong as I put the settings back the way I had them before. But nun the less thank you all for the help.
