Problems using "auto fit text to text placeholder" feature in Power Point

Mar 3, 2004 5:06AM PST

We have our edit options in Power Point 2000 set to the above feature. What it is supposed to do is shrink the text to fit the placeholder (i.e. the title box, the text box with bullet points, etc.).

But after a certain point, it stops shrinking the text and just goes over the page. For example, after about 10 main bulletpoints in the "bulleted" section it does this.

Any idea if there is a way around this so it can auto-shrink the text on an unusually big screen without having to do it manually? Thanks in advance of your assistance.

this sounds like a bug to me or a design feature. have you applied all the Office Service Packs?

I believe I have. Is there a service pack beyond 1a? If you know of any please let me know, thanks.

Interestingly enough, at home I had Office 2000 and it had the same problem with Power Point. I recently upgraded it to Office XP and I do not have that problem anymore.

run Office Update. they are up to at least Service Pack 2, but that doesn't mean that they fixed the problem.
