Question

Problems post Windows 10 installation

Sep 19, 2015 2:23AM PDT

Hi,

The Windows 10 Desktop install appeared to have gone smoothly but ....

1) I can no longer connect to Windows store (maybe not such a bad thing ?). The app freezes.
2) Explorer simply refuses to function correctly. It freezes. And I get the "not responding" message etc. I switched to Firefox and no issues it works fine! So no issues with internet availability.
3) Skype also freezes and goes into "not responding" mode

To me there appears a common theme. Is there some common component or set of components that are causing me problems? Has this been seen elsewhere and is there a simple fix?

I also upgraded a laptop to Windows 10. Slower than Windows 7 but it works OK.

My experience of Windows 10 is that its not much better than Windows 8.1. Its still worse than Vista and nowhere as smooth as Windows 7 !

There are tons of complaints about anything associated with windows store and MS said they fixed it but many say that the fix still doesn't work.
Maybe in the next update?

Problem with Store, Explorer and Skype
Sep 20, 2015 7:40AM PDT

There appear to be many problems with Windows store but I am still guessing (and it is a guess) that my issue with Store, Explorer and Skype suggests a problem with a common component ? Something that these apps use to communicate that Firefox does not use ???????

Has anyone experienced this and found a solution ?
Thanks.
