Problems playing games in T5026

May 28, 2005 2:11PM PDT

I need help with some big errors that appears when playing games in the Emachines T5026.
I buy it, like 4 months ago and from the day that I buy it I can't play any game, or at least the majority of them. For instance the games that I can't play on it are: The Sims 2, Quake 3 Arena (a very old game that I don't know why I can't play), somw problems with Unreal Tournament 2004 and Halo.
For the Sims 2 and Unreal Tournament 2004, appeared a driver error saying talking about the ialmnr5 error with the display and then the desktop appeared with a minimum color display making all look very bad and then it said to close all and reboot windows. For Quake 3 the machine automatically reboot and then a window saying that the machine recovery from a serious errror and when I send the error to Microsoft it says that the problem is a hardware problem but they don't know what it is.

Please I need some kind of help. I CAN'T PLAY ABSOLUTELY NOTHIG ON THIS MACHINE!!!!!!!!!!!

try contacting emachines...

however, i think its cuz the integrated gfx suks. when i was using it, warcraft 3 looked funny. once i upgraded to a pci gfx card, i saw a major difference. try upgrading ur gfx card.

btw, if calling emachines, expect to be waiting for like 10 mins...

Only expansion is a pci card, a good one would be the Nvdia 5500 or ATI 9250. If you get the 9250, download ati tool and overclock it, and it'll run pretty well.

don't buy the FX 5500
May 29, 2005 5:05AM PDT

when the FX 5700LE is actually cheaper at newegg (it was last I checked)

the Radeon 9250 is a decent low range card
with average performance
but believe me, i'd take a Radeon 7000 over integrated graphics and a 9250 is far faster than that

most games will run on older low end cards (FX 5200/Radeon 9200) because most people don't own $300-$900 graphics cards
most people own basic graphics cards with basic abilities...and the games are designed to work on those, with reduced settings, and they will just play nicer/look nicer on better hardware (Doom III will run on FX 5200's, at about 800x600/low quality, but when run at high quality/1152x864 with 2x AA it just looks amazing, but you can only do that on higher end hardware like a 6800GT)

mostly i'll write that you should get the 5700LE
as it'll probably be faster than even the 9250
and aside from that
there isn't a whole lot you can do
but Quake 3 should run, that is an error you need to contact the maker of Quake 3 about (ID Software I believe, but it might be someone else)

Thank You ozos, I will try the FX5700LE, I hope I can play games after buying this graphic card because I have this great games that I buy, beliving that they will play on my new computer, and then all this errors appeared.

A last question: you'r sure this card work on the EMachines T5026, because some people say that the T5026 cannot be updated with another graphic card for the pc express that it doesn't have.
