Problems of Audio in Webcam

I have a 98 S.E. I recentally installed a Webcam on Messenger and am able to successfully use it with other 98SE computers. ( Picture and audio very good) Not successful when contacting XP computers. ( Picture o.k. but audio breaks up and only a few words of my conversation, plus lots of crackling of reception, are understood by recipients. Please help me if you have any solutions to my problem.

what you need to do is go to the webcam manufactures and see if they have a patch or something sounds like you need to check for updates on webcam as for everything else it seems like it would work for all computers hope this helps good luck
