Keep in mind that your VGA and HDMI signals are different. With VGA, you send analog and your monitor converts to digital but I do wonder if you are displaying at the monitor's native resolution with one and not the other. As for text, make sure to do the cleartype setup. As for your HDMI cable, make sure it's not the old HDMI 1.x which was good for interlaced but not 1080p.
I have two computers one a few years with window 7 and a brand new one with window 10. The picture quality with both computer hookup to my samsung p2770HD monitor/tv using the vga cable is great.
However if I use the HDMI cable I get bad picture quality. The text look like some of the pixel are missing and there are halo around the small icons. Look almost like when window is using the "recovery mode".
I know I have the right drivers loaded from the Samsung web site and I tried various settings and resolution on window. But the picture is never as good as the vga connection.
Is where anything else I can try? Am I missing something here? Correcting me if I am wrong but this should be plug and play, right? And I did the right steps to hook it up as this point, right?
Could this be a bad HDMI cable or a problem with my monitor??
