That's a respectable setup, but tell about the OS install, drivers (Microsoft won't do this for us) and how you deal with Spyware.

I have updated drivers for mother board, and graphics. and Home edition xp not updated because service pack two clashes with things (i think). latest drivers for graphics. Im a freak about spyware, running spybot search and destroy, ad aware, and cleaning out disk and defragmenting everyday, plus i use firefox.

The clue for my is your passage about SP2.

I have yet to see any clash with hundreds of machines at the office.

Let me offer that we do however use AUTOSTREAMER to make a XP SP2 so we get SP2 in from the beginning.

The second clue is the constant defragmenting. That can be a sign that you must turn the drives to PIO and back to DMA. A BUG in XP shows the drive in DMA, but it is not. Here's the article -> http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/storage/IDE-DMA.mspx
