If you read the fine print on those adapters, they'll tell you that you need a device that can specifically encode a component signal over VGA. You clearly do not have such a device. You can try as long as you want, it won't work.
To bottom line it, if your TV doesn't have a VGA input, then you'll need a special encoder device that can take the signal from your laptop and turn it into something your TV can understand. These aren't typically cheap either, so most people decide it's not worth it.
Had huge difficulty with this so far and having read many forums am still having no luck, so any help is appreciated.
I have a Sony Vaio VGN-N38Z laptop which has a VGA port and I am trying to connect it to a Hitachi 42HDT79 tv. I am using a vga to 3rca cable (red, blue and green connectors). I cant use vga to vga or s-video.
I have messed around with various settings and the best result I have had so far to have a brief flicker of my desktop on the tv and then it just turns to pink and green lines.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks,
Sean
