Is that esata is too hard on consumers. The issues of support are you can't find the answer for free it seems. That is, could you find local support staff that will fix it for a reasonable fee?
This is the bane of today's hardware. Support is not included. Since it doesn't work, return what doesn't work.
I recently purchased a new gateway SX2800-1 and have been unabele to get it to recognize the external drive through the esata port. I works fine through the usb 2 port but locks up the system when I try to boot with the drive attached. So far I have downloaded new drivers for the onboard sata controler and installed them. Contacts with gateway have proved fruitless so far. Any suggestions?
