Problems after I install SONY Picture Motion Browser???

I just recently purchased a new computer with Vista as the operating system. I also just got a SONY hdr-sr7 camcorder that comes with Picture Motion Browser software. When I install the PMB software it works great, but it totally erases my E: drive from my computer. So everytime you put in a DVD or a CD it's not reconized. It's just gone?? Can somebody help me, Sony wasn't much help they told me to call the computer manufacturer. This is driving me crazy!!
