Problem with word doc. page

When I open a doc. in word I do not have my top main toolbar,File,Edit, etc, just a page and rulebars. I have deleted office 2000 twice and it installs the same everytime. I have tried pressing alt-view and nothing happens. All the other key commands work...

Thanks for the suggestion.

I went ahead an installed a different version of office and now my title bar is back.
