Problem with word doc. page

When I open a doc. in word I do not have my top main toolbar,File,Edit, etc, just a page and rulebars. I have deleted office 2000 twice and it installs the same everytime. I have tried pressing alt-view and nothing happens. All the other key commands work...

This includes all the information you need to safely rename normal.dot, but continues troubleshooting just in case normal.dot is not the problem.

I finally gave up

Thanks for the suggestion.

I went ahead an installed a different version of office and now my title bar is back.
