That's strange. Windows 7 doesn't have Quick Launch by default. So there's nothing to remove from it, unless you choose to enable it. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/888-quick-launch-enable-disable.html tells more.
To pin something on the desktop to the taskbar, right clock on it and choose "pin to taskbar". More info in http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/397-taskbar-pin-unpin-program-links.html

I had currently installed Windows 7 on my system. I tried to delete the Quick launch icons & put my application shortcuts on it. But it is not happening.
It says you dont have privileges to do so.
Is it a setting error or a virus??
