Question

Problem with videos using Firefox.

Aug 9, 2016 1:27PM PDT

I am using ver 47.0 of Mozilla Firefox, and Windows XP.

I am having issues watching certain video clips from a forum, and am getting the message ' This browser does not support video playback'.
I watch YouTube on a regular basis, so it must be something to do with settings?
The current problem seems to be from twitter. This is the file https://twitter.com/bbcarchive/status/761192472642854913 .

I do not use twitter, so is that the problem?

Thanks guys

Colin

Page does not exist

I'm getting "Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!" when I click that link.

Can you give us anything else to try, or more details, eg, what is the video and who/how were you referred to it?

I had to fix the URL.

That trailing period caused it to fail. Fixed it.

Answer
Two things.
Aug 9, 2016 1:34PM PDT

1. Youtube can use HTML5 video so you can see that but not Flash video.
2. The Flash plugin is not installed by default.

Be sure your Flash install is from Adobe.com.

I fell out with IE some years ago. Mozilla Firefox is my browser of choice.

Works with w7 and ff 48.
It is not a flash player problem since I don't have that installed.

thanks for your help and suggestions, but still no joy!

I am thinking it must be something to do with Twitter, which I hate and do not have installed.

What do you guys think?

Twitter

Doubtful as I don't have that installed and the video plays.
