Problem with UN55D6300 and HT-D5300 Surround Sound

by Juggalatus / August 22, 2011 8:02 AM PDT

I just got a new Samsung UN46D6300, and Samsung HT-D5300 Blu-Ray surround sound system. My Xbox 360 is connected to the TV through HDMI, and the surround system is also connected to the TV through HDMI, no other audio cables.

Whenever I play MLB 2k11, the sound will cut out somtimes. It only happens when a bat makes contact with a ball, and it does it anywhere from 5 to 10 times in a 9 inning game. To get the sound back I can either cycle through the inputs on the blu ray player until I get back to the right one, I can switch the tv to another input then back to the 360, or I can unplug the HDMI cable from the 360 and back in - all of these things will make the sound come right back on. I haven't noticed it with any other game yet, but I mostly play MLB lately. It never happened on my Vizio with Panasonic home theater system.

Also with my TV, while playing games and watching movies, a lot of times the movements are choppy and not fluid at all. Can this be fixed with proper calibration?

I am now running it through aux with the red and white cables from the tv to the surround sound, and that seems to have fixed the problem with the sound cutting out.

Do you have any input on the problem I mentioned with certain movements not being fluid? The picture looks great but sometimes while the picture is in motion, both while playing games and watching blu-rays, it isn't very smooth.

Just a note on the 360.

Some folk have been telling me to get more fluid play on the 360 is to set the 360 to 720p.

Worth a shot.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
