Problem with the YP-P3 media player MTP connection in win 7

Hi there, I have a YP-P3 media player for some time now and everytime I try to connect it to the computer it always shows as a usb device. I would like to connect it in MTP mode as emodio would not detect it otherwise if I am not mistaken. I have tried it in windows vista and now, after an upgrade, in windows 7. Both times the media player is treated as a usb flash drive. I have been transferring music by drag and drop all this while without any playlist support.

I have tried to format the device (I mistook it for device reset) and it still didn't work. Because of the format, now I lost all the built in pictures, videos, flash (metronome), music (the samsung tunes), the tts demo text and other stuff that I am trying desperately to get back. I tried to search for them everywhere all over the net but all I got was the games. Is there anyway that I could get them back?

By the way, what would happen if I press the reset button at the back of the device? will it reset everything to the way it was when I bought it including the games, metronome, pictures, etc? I didn't dare to do it because I don't know what will happen.

Please help me and thank you in advance for your kind attention.
