I'm trying the antivirus/antispyware you can get with the Google Pack now. It's running on Windows 7 64 bit versions of Pro and Home Pre so while AVG Free ran fine we are trialing the other title.
And let me repeat that we don't "test" if the AV will catch stuff. That's done by many others. Since 99.99% of the threats are thwarted by our safe computing habits the only folk that should have trouble are those that think "Hey, I'm protected."
is there a 'known problem' with the latest AVG Free and Windows 7 that anyone is aware of? Uur new laptop was running fine until we installed AVG Free and it started to 'freeze' and wouldn't even switch off...the only way we could get back going again was to take the battery out!! Have uninstalled AVG Free and put Avira on instead-so far no problem, phew.
