Problem with TDK CD burner

by chaplndave / November 26, 2004 2:52 AM PST

I have a TDK burner less than a year old. It burns CDs fine, but when I try to play back with this drive the music comes out jittery (hope you know what I mean). I am wondering if I should bother with tech support and just purchase a new DVD burner. Any idea why the drive may be doing this? Would new firmware help? I really need some advice here before I purchase something new. Thanks ahead of time for the assistance. chaplndave

Bob:

Thanks for the quick response...can you be a bit more specific? Not sure I understand all that you are saying. You are right in assuming that I am using Windows Media Player, version 10. Sounds like that may have been a problem for others as well. I have tried to burn my music using Musicmatch Jukebox and found it very difficult to use. Are you suggesting that Winamp (which I have not downloaded) may be better for listening? How is it for burning/formatting to MP3? Thanks again.

I'd rather you search the noted site about analog playback in WMP. I do not duplicate web content when I post a link. Some take offense at this, and I never apologise for it.

As to Winamp, I note it since WMP is quite the CPU HOG and some find Winamp to playback just as good without having to figure what is busted.
