Both Kees and R. Proffitt are right.
I have seven of them running at the same time.
Is this what your problems is about? Kind of hard to tell.
Should there be only one process?
No.
Two network svchost.exe and four system svchost.exe processes. If any of them are stopped or or the process is killed what do you think would happen to your network or windows?
Sometimes an antivirus program will report after scanning that svchost.exe is infected. You did not say (which is why when one begins a discussion such as this, one should include more detail. It is, after all, your topic and your discussion.) what the issue was.
If infected, under no circumstances should you delete this file using your antivirus or otherwise. It is a needed and necessary windows system file even if infected, just so you know.
Please provide more detail as to what the real issue is. Both Kees and R. Proffitt are very sharp but need a little help here..
