Question

Problem with Samsung Link folder sharing

Dec 29, 2014 10:59PM PST

I have selected a PC folder with several sub folders to share with my Samsung Smart TV. This has worked great in the past, but now it only shares about half of the sub folders.
Sub folders have movies and music files in them. When I go to "nearby device connection settings" it shows the blue refresh symbol continuing to spin as if it is updating. This has been spinning for the past several days.
Anyone have an idea of why this is happening.

And no, no one has a solid fix unless you count those that ditched this software and moved to other servers. The theory is that either there is some incompatible encoding in some title in that folder (TVs are still new to this so instead of an error out they sit and spin) or there are too many files and the TV runs out of memory.

So far, support has been just as good as Windows. That is, no one comes over and dives into it.

Same problem, no solution yet

Same here... I'm thinking that is related to size of shared folder... I recently ask to samsung support by email but no answer yet. I will try to divide my video collection in more folders to see if the update of shared folder can finish without the blue refresh simbol rotating forever...
