Problem with RAID 5 PowerEdge 4200 Server

Jul 12, 2005 7:26AM PDT

So I had a bad drive in my PowerEdge 4200 server. It's a RAID 5 setup. I have three drives in this server and the number three drive went bad. So I ordered a new drive for it. Well today, with the server running, I inserted the drive to see if it would spool up. As soon as I put the drive in, I got a failure light on my number two drive. I put the old drive back in the number three spot and now I get an OK on the 1st drive, failure on the second, and an ok on the third. In the configuration setup for SCSI, I keep seeing two failed drives and one drive online. Any tips/hints of things that I should try? Basically I can get two drives with OK lights (green) and one with a failure light. But my SCSI Bios/Config shows two failed drives and one online. There are no jumper settings on the drives (the two drives already in the server had no jumper settings).

Thanks,
Lance
