Problem with playback of camcorder through tv

Oct 21, 2007 8:52AM PDT

I've a sony mini dv camcorder dcr-9e. When trying to playback the tape using the jackplug through the camcorder and the white/yellow leads into the tv through scart or plugs socket, get sound but no picture. Sony shop says should play, even if just use yellow lead. No problems playing on touchscreen on camcorder. Help!

You're not mixing up NTSC and PAL, are you?

That could be your problem.

I did think of that, and have tried both settings. Presumably there wouldn't be a problem if the recording mode was different? What video out mode should it be set to? Thanks

1) Is your TV PAL or NTSC?

It could have something to do with how the video was recorded since they are two different video formats. Can you try with a PAL TV?
