PROBLEM WITH MONITOR RSOLUTION AFTER REINSTALL WINDOWS XP

by mnbey2009 / March 29, 2008 9:10 AM PDT

I JUST DID A clean re install of windows xp on my desktop, everything was fine until i decided to change the screen resolution, i tried to change it to a resolution that maybe the system had no driver for, the same monitor attached to my mac, works fine, the monitor is a compaq mv520, on the pc, when i turn on the computer , the screen work, until it gets past all of the setup routines, then it flashes a message, asking if the screen resolution is correct?, complete with question mark, it seem to be the computer, since i tried to attach an e-machine monitor to the same machine to see the result, it too came on and worked until most of the start up routines were done, then just went blank, it went into safe mode and tried to adjust the preferences but to no avail, any advice on a recovery plan is welcome.

I'd get the drivers from Compaq, and not do a reinstall.

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
