Problem with modem

Feb 17, 2006 4:59AM PST

Hi,
my friend has an modem Conexiant 56K on Win XP Home installed. He uses a simple dial up connection to connect to the internet. He connects without problems, but after 3 or 4 dials, when he clicks on the "Dial" button, the computer simply freezes. After that we reinstalled the modem, and after that we connect to the internet again, but then it freezes again. What could be the reason?

Thanks in advance,
Mirza
