Problem with Microsoft Word?

by The Nightingale / September 28, 2007 10:26 AM PDT

Got a slight problem with Microsoft word- whenever I try and open it, I get the followng message:

'This file does not have a program association with it for performing this action. Create an association in the folder options control panel'!

I don't understand what this means? How do I do this?

Help is much appreciated!

Thanks for replying!

There's a slight problem. When I try and associate the .DOC files with word, it says that .DOC is already a file association with the program.

And yet Word still won't open...

Try also locating and deleting any and all NORMAL.DOT files.

See if that helps, even if I believe you need a clean reinstall of Word.
