Problem with LG Monitor

Sep 20, 2004 1:15AM PDT

A friend of mine got a new computer yesterday which came with an LG 700s 17" monitor. Everything worked fine when the computer was set up but today the monitor is showing a white screen with diagonal rainbow stripes. The computer desktop is still visible through the white, but just barely. The computer has a GeForce 4 (128mb) video card, if that's of any use. Is this a software problem or is it possible that the monitor is faulty? Thanks in advance for your help.

Boot Windows into Safe Mode and if the problem remains, then try the monitor on another PC.

What happens?

Did the video card come with an installation CD? It should, how about the monitor? If they do have installation CD's, use them. If none, yes, try the monitor with other computers, it could be faulty, but the possibility of a defective video card exists.
