Question

Problem with laptop hub connecting to monitor

Sep 7, 2018 2:34AM PDT

I have one of these laptop hubs:

The plan was to leave this connected to my keyboard, mouse, hard drives and monitor and I would switch between different laptops without having to connect each device individually. I've successfully connected to my monitor through the hub using one laptop but when I switch laptops, the monitor is not recognised (usb devices work fine). Both laptops are Win 10, graphics card drivers have been updated. Both laptops connect to the monitor without issue when connected directly to the monitor by hdmi cable.

Any ideas what the issue might be?

The laptop that is working is a Dell, the one that isn't is an Asus. The monitor is also a Dell.
