But first a comment. While the make/model was nice to know, the age and if they keep up on minor maintenance such as some compressed air can could be useful to know.
I'd try:
a. Dust it out with a compressed air can.
b. Another make/model wifi card.

my sister currently uses this notebook, but with a i am guessing overheating issue. she has a pci card slot wireless thingy plugged in to it to connect to here wireless network. however, after 20 minutes or so of use, the internet connection is lost and the conectivity led on the card blinks which means no connection. i took the card out and discovered it was EXTREMELY hot to the touch. how can she stop this, i tell her to elevate the back of it in hope to improve some hot air escape.
anyway to help her?
