If you're researching this the simple answer is sure. HDMI ports can get blown. And if there is a HDMI hand shake failure that port will remain inoperative until you remove power and wait a while.
Frankly that's a design flaw in HDMI. Since Samsung gets those chips from Intel, the flaw is inherited.

So my Samsung tv has 3 HDMI ports, HDMI port 1 & 2 work perfectly well, but whenever I plug anything into HDMI port 3, it just says 'no signal'. I've tried connecting my sky box, DVD player & my iPad to the HDMI port 3 but it just keeps saying 'no signal'! Could it be that I may have deactivated HDMI port 3? Or do you think it's possibly gone faulty?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
