Usually the machine's maker will select a drive known to work with Vista. Ask them why they didn't select such a drive.

Hello,
I have a problem with the following:
OS: Microsoft Vista
DVD Writer: Samsung SH-S182M 18x DL LS DVDRW
Program: Movie Maker
For some reason, the moviemaker doesn't recognise the DVD writer. Where normally a drive letter is shown where to write the movie to, now a blank space is shown in this pull down menu.
Strange thing is that everything else DOES recognise this drive. Also it is possible to write DVD?s with other programs, like Alcohol and Nero.
It really gives me a headaches, because I don?t like to install VISTA all over again. Anyone else experience the same problem or already found a solution for this?
Cheers,
