Problem with copied CDs and DVDs

Nov 28, 2006 10:00PM PST

I have a strange problem with my internal CD/DVD writer.

I can read without any problem commercial CDs and DVDs, but when I try to read a copied CD or DVD, it doesn't work.

Writing a CD or DVD doesn't work either. The burning process - using Nero - terminates correctly but when I want to read the CD or DVD on another PC it doesn't work either.

Any idea what could be the cause of this problem ?

Kind regards,
Ronny

Recorders when they get old do that.

Or you turned on SIMULATION in the recorder software. But since it can't read a copied CD that works elsewhere I fear the drive is showing the classic signs of age. At least a new drive is cheap.

Are these "Closed session" CD/DVD's?

When recording to a CD/DVD, if you leave the session open, it cannot be read on another computer, only on the computer it was used to copy to.

Is this the case here?
