problem with comcast internet connection

Oct 21, 2005 2:12PM PDT

i am posting this as i am at work and will be unable to call comcast until sunday night.
anyway, friday morning, double clicked internet explorer, and it said i was off line. i have had a stable connection for 5 months now, never a problem. went to internet options>tools>connections, and i think i changed my preference to connect with broadband. i fooled around with it without success.
question is, in the "connections" which i described, what should be set to what for comcast high speed?
thanks,
jimmy

that in the Connections tab you have clicked the option "Never dial. . ."

What's your OS? Are you behind a router or a modem?

Common fix: Turn off modem (unplug) and turn off computer (thru Start menu), wait at least one minute. Turn on modem until all lights are normal. Turn on computer. This should have cleared any blocks to the net. Do the same to the router if you have one. Turn it on after the modem. Good Luck.
