Two items come to mind:
1) Move the wireless computer closer to the access point
2) Run ipconfig/renew from a command prompt. Note your IP should be set to be Obtained Automatically.
Any help about this problem is greatly appreciated.
I have two computers at home with window XP. I have difficulty connecting to the Internet using the wireless LAN PCI adapter (note: the main computer which connected directly to D-Link wireless broadband router is working fine).
- I followed all the steps when installing the new wirless PCI card, at the end there is a small icon at the bottom right indicates that "wireless networks connection is available & signal strength is low". When I opened a browser and couldn't launch any website.
I opened "Networks connection" window and clicked on the "wireless networks connection icon", there is no ip address/subnet mask, or default gateway. Everything is zero. I'm not sure what I'm doing since I don't have much knowlegde about PC. Could anyone please give me some tips or advise??? Thanks so much
