Problem with CD ROM drives being recongnized

The problem I am having is that none of my 3 CD ROM drives are displaying or even being recognized. One is connected through the motherboard controller, and two are connected through a raid card. I have two souces of power going to these drives also (one split). When I boot up my bios recognizes at least two of my CD ROM drives (the ones connected through the raid controller). I have ran up and down this problem, I have heard a few different ideas as to what is causeing this such as the power supply SP2, or another program. I lastly want to replace the power supply, and it doesnt seem logical since all drives open when I push the buttons. I would appreciate it if anyone could help.

" two are connected through a raid card. "

I'd like to know if you ever get this to work. Almost all the old raid cards I've used specifically instruct you not to connect CDROM type drives to them.

CDVD & CDROM Rewriteable

I have the same problem. PC is not recognizing either drive all the time. After I reboot then they show up but then my PC starts slowing down and freezing up. Sometimes it recognizes the DVD Drive but not the CDROM rewriteable. Dell has had me do several things and even said I need a new harddrive. I don't know what a raid card is but this thing has not been altered since it came from the dell factory. If you find a solution that may help me please email me back at
