Question

Problem with categories under windows live mail

Dec 19, 2012 7:51AM PST

Hi we recently had a crash of the old windows xp system with outlook express so have upgraded to windows 7 with windows live mail. With the old outlook express you used to see which groups a contact belongs to by going to the other tab, but there doesn't seem to be a similar option with windows live mail. You can easily see which contacts are in a category/group, but not the other way around, which is really what we need! What should we do? Is there another email program with this feature or a work around for WLM? Thanks, Ben

Then you need to look at the big Outlook 2012.

You get a 30 or more day demo use so you can check it out. A lot was lost in Windows Live Mail and the newer Live email appears to have even less features.

Thunderbird has addons so it's sort of surprising that a feature can't be had in an addon. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/extensions/?sort=created

I don't use Live. Sorry, just too many reasons to not try it. I've helped too many get their stuff to the t-bird.
