General discussion

problem with Booktype change

Jan 5, 2005 6:39PM PST

Hi!
I tried to change booktype to DVD-ROM and burn my DVD with Sony DVD RW DW-D22A and Bit Setting Utility v1.3.3. I used Verbatim DVD+R. The result was bad. I couldn't read this disc everywhere. Then i tried to do the same with Verbatim DVD+RW, and result was fine. Everything was OK.
I had LiteOn DVD writer earlier and then everything was OK.
What is the problem of my action?
May be booktype can change LiteOn DVD writers only?

Not all players read DVD+R disc and not all players read DVD-R. To fix this problem we change booktype to DVD-ROM.
All players read DVD-ROM.

I have a few DVD players that this doesn't help on. I stopped doing that since it was not paying off.

Booktype Settings
May 10, 2005 7:30PM PDT

I use Nero 6.6 (newest Version) to burn Dual Layer DVD's. Nero automatically detecs the Booktype Settings of my Sony DRU 720A Drive and sets the correct Defaults.

The created DVD runs perfect in DVD-Rom and DVD Standalone Player.
