Question

Problem while Ping form one system to other

Sep 29, 2015 3:21AM PDT

I Have two computers which are connected to two routers respectivly. The two routers are connected with a cable in WAN ports of two routers. I need to ping from machine 1 Local IP to machine 2 Local IP. Below are the diagram of my network setup.http://s27.postimg.org/mcau68sxv/ping_A_B.jpg

To get connectivity between two computers i use Router 1's WAN gateway as Router 2's WAN IP and vice versa.

I dont have any connection to internet. I Just want ping from machine 1 to machine 2 local ips.

As i'm not fully proficient in networking please suggest me how to ping to each other machine.

Below are my configuration on machines and routers

Router 1:
WAN IP : 10.0.0.2
MASK : 255.255.255.0
GW : 10.0.0.1

LAN IP : 192.168.0.1
MASK : 255.255.255.0
--------------------------------------------
Machine 1:

IP : 192.168.0.5
MASK : 255.255.255.0
GW : 192.168.0.1
===============================================

Router 2 :
WAN IP : 10.0.0.1
MASK : 255.255.255.0
GW : 10.0.0.2

LAN IP : 192.168.1.1
MASK : 255.255.255.0
----------------------------------------
Machine 2:

IP : 192.168.1.9
MASK : 255.255.255.0
GW : 192.168.1.1

Quite the setup.

I would have used the LAN ports to do this. Otherwise the networks are isolated.

Hi R.Proffitt

Thanks for your reply...

If i use the LAN ports to connect two routers then the Routers interface is not showed up in browser. Even the machines also not getting the IP address. If it is possible can you please explain me how to use LAN ports to get connectivity between two machines.

Thank you.
