Question

Problem watching movies off external HDD

Jan 14, 2015 3:57AM PST

I have used this Hardrive for a while now for watching movies. All of a sudden my new TV Samsung UE55HU7200 when i put new films onto the Harddrive they do not show up when i go into media it is just showing me my old stuff.

But when i go and use my other Samsung TV upstairs UE48H6400 or even my PS3 it shows everything on the harddrive and lets me play it.

I cant seem to get my head around it. Like i said my new TV was playing everything on there til about 4 days ago now suddenly doesnt show anything new i put on it.

Anybody know a FIX ? Thanks Happy

My guess: it has something with the cache in the TV. Connect another harddisk to overwrite the cache, and this one again. Or mayby it suffices to change the volume label of the disk, so the TV thinks it's another disk.

Worth the try, and it doesn't harm if it makes no difference.

Changed the Volume Name and also tried using a diffrent Harddrive to delete the cache but still no luck!

Thanks for your reply guys, but do you know any other possibilities?

So the third option about showing video, audio, etc?

If that fails then it's a Samsung issue for them to clear up.
