It just says "no audio" when I plug it in. The flash drive is a 16GB Sandisk Cruzer in fat32 format...

No - I'm not sure it's supported - it was just something I happened to have lying around. According to the manual fat32 should be supported, but it doesn't say anything about size, etc. What is exFAT and why would I need it?
As memory sticks passed a certain size, a new format was required.

I'd try something smaller or be sure this device supports this size memory stick.
Did you try formatting it to FAT32?
