Problem updating BIOS

I have a Gigabyte 8IK1100 (Rev. 2.0) mobo with the factory installed BIOS version FF. I updated to the latest version, FI, and when my system rebooted i got an error message that read "error loading operating system". I then used Q-Flash to restore the FF BIOS and then disabled hyper-threading and tried again. Same problem. I then tried the previous BIOS updates (FG, FH) and again, same problem. The original BIOS (FF) is the only version that works. What's the deal?
