Problem up-dating firmware on LE40A656A1FXXU.

Nov 29, 2008 5:55AM PST

Hope you can help? I bought the set in May 2008 and I am very pleased with it. However, I believe the it may require a firmware up-date to 'sharpen' up the image. From the setup menu I have the following details: Software Ver: T-PERLDEUC-1010, Firmware vers: T-EMMA2DEUB-0106. I have just had chance to download the firmware from the Samsung website, vers: T-PRLPEUMD-1007.2. I followed the instuctions to the letter, but when the up-grade had finished, the standby light kept flashing. I waited about 10 mins, but it didn't stop, so I un-plugged the USB stick and pressed the power button on the remote. When I checked the software details again, the info had not changed. What have I done wrong? The ser.# of the set is ALJL3SLQ600278F Vers. SQ01.

Did you download the firmware update from your country's website, or did you download it from the U.S. site?

rileyrodders,

I don't have the information for that region's firmware. I would definitely give a call to the UK service center to see if you can get a technician to come out and look at your unit.

The firmware should have made a difference, and it sounds like you're having some trouble. Let's get that fixed up.

Keep me posted.
