Problem sync with pc for document to go

Nov 10, 2004 6:48PM PST

I keep having problem when I sync some documents I create with document to go on my clie t615. The document on the pc is not updated. I have checked the document to go web site but no solution provided. Anyone can help me to solve this?

I would also like to know is there any other freeware that have the same functions as document to go on palm.

Thanks a lot!

There isn't one.

About your issue. You didn't tell if you looked at the Hotsync settings to see what overwrites what. Maybe you've never looked at it?

My Hotsync is that it updates both document on desktop and on my clie.

The Hotsync Log displace the following error message:
"There was an error translating this file. A document on the desktop could not be created."

So is there any clue to help solve this?

Any help is appreciated.

Short list of possbles.

1. The document could be Read-only.
2. The document might be open by another application.
3. The document has an error (rename it so it can be made anew).
4. The document directory is one your account can't create such.

All are things you need to explore.

For the second pointer of the document being opened by another application, are you including those such as the document is shown in the "recently open documents list" in both Microsoft Word and the "My Recent Document" list under the Start icon of Win XP?

If this is what you mean, is there any way to get around it, coz the documents in concerned always appear in the "recently open documents list" in Word, even I did not open any of them at all.

Item 2. Office 97 and XP.
Nov 12, 2004 11:57PM PST

I did run into that issue of the file being open by a hung Word 97 on Windows XP. The owner was adament that Word 97 works on XP. Sadly, that discussion died on the table and I had to let them call Microsoft. They were still incensed over MS's answer. Sometimes you can't agree..

The file will show up in the File, Open list because (sorry for the technojargon/acronyms) Togo will open a DDE conversation with Word.
