problem stopping hard disc controller

Mar 6, 2004 9:56AM PST

I work with a Toshiba Satellite and run ME.
I have problems removing my digital camera cards from the PCMCIA slot.
All programs are closed, no open files, but when I double click in my Eject Hardware icon , I am told the devise cannot be stopped.
I found that all I can do, is to turn my laptop off and remove the card
begging for help
Patricia

if you don't have a virus or spyware, the most frequent cause of this problem is some tool or utility still running. frequently, this is a digital camera utility that continuously monitors for when you insert a new card with images. if you are sure that no such thing is present, then you may need to update device drivers for the camera or your computer.

thanks for your reply.
I use a Camedia E-10 with smartmedia cards.
I do feel somehow the problem is with my camera, not with my computer or digital cards (i have 6 of them and the same problem).
I will email the Olympus help online, see if they can enlighten me.
thanks again
