Problem running programmes

by garf / December 1, 2004 7:20 AM PST

I reformatted my harddrive, then successfully reinstalled all the relevant drivers and software i use.

However i have encountered an unusual problem. Games install fine, and run as expected... but only once. If i shut a game down and try and restart it again, im simply faced with the '(insert game title... for example rollercoaster tycoon 3 and football manager 2005) has encountered a problem and needs to close' popup. All other software (office, macromedia, i-tunes etc) work fine.

I have reinstalled everything on my pc and even replaced the harddrive and video card, but the same error persists (game installs... plays fine.. doesnt work next time i try to open it)

its baffling me, any ideas?

How do you try to resume or restart the games? Is the CD still in the drive and you use a shortcut or go through all programs? Or, do you remove the CD then put it back into the drive?

Have tried with the cd in the drive using a shortcut.. directly from the cd using explore.. and even by using a cd crack.

As i said, the programmes run fine once... just refuse to ever work again.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
