problem renewing Norton subscription

PC in question running Win. XP sp2 with Norton antivirus 2008. My subscription will expire soon, so I followed Norton's instructions for renewal. After the process was completed without a hitch, Norton is still telling me I need to renew soon! What is going on here and is there anything I can try to fix this?

In reply to: Renew your Norton 2008 subscription

Thanks for your help, but the problem has gone away on its own! I haven't had time to really sit down at the PC in question (it's not my work machine) but today while using it, Norton was no longer alerting me to renew my subscription; it confirmed that I had a year left until it ran out. It might just be that it takes several weeks to confirm the renewal, I'm not sure...Thanks for your suggestions!
