Problem Printing - Error message 93?

Dec 11, 2003 4:58AM PST

Hi again everyone,
I have an intermittant (sp?) problem that happens as follows...
I can be looking at and then trying to print a jpeg picture from one of my photo albums, or trying to print a webpage of information, or trying to print a power point slide. (So it happens in various application points) I click "print" or "print preview" and the first box that pops up says "Error 93" - something about continuing to run scipts of this page, and gives me the choice of YES or No. Regardless of which one I choose, the next box that appears is an Outlook express box which shows the yellow Exclamation point sign and says "Some errors occured while processing the requested tasks. Please review the list of errors below for more details." And the details say, "Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or long periods of inactivity." (There follows some stuff germaine to my server account). But the last notation is an error number: 0x800CCCOF. I've called my cable internet provider to check if their server and there are no problems.
This has only been happening for about 3 months, and normally I have to CLICK out of whatever I'm doing, sometimes having to Control-Alt-Delete to be able to get anything to respond again. The real crazy thing is that sometimes it doesn't happen at all and I can print like nobodies business.
Any ideas??
Thanks in advance as always,
Bigeasy

Bigeasy,

What's that operating system again??, and what computer type are you using? In addition, the EXACT error would certainly help:

Your description is certainly strange. ARe you getting something similar to this first link??:

http://users.snowcrest.net/writers/cpu/4922.html

If so, here are some troubleshooting options:

SCRIPTING: Scripting Errors

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=811165

http://support.earthlink.net/mu/1/psc/img/walkthroughs/windows_9x_nt/browsers/ie_5.0/6862.psc.html

The "0x800CCCOF" error is usually related to problems with a "bad" email on the server. If you've got webmail of some type, delete all the mail from your account and see if that helps.

Hope this helps and let us know what you find.

Grif

Hi Grif!
Thanks for the advice and all the links provided. The snowcrest link you listed looks especially close to the "culprit" I'm getting. I'm trying to make the error appear again and will try to get a screen shot so I can send it to you. (Have to figure out how to do that????)
Also you asked for my systems information. I'm running a PII, 866 with 384 MB of RAM, the OS is Windows 98SE. The PC is a Micron Millennia and to this point, (with the exception of them not providing user manuals with the system), I've been happy with the performance. Since going with a cable internet connection everything is running very fast and smoothly, so when a glitch like this happens, I start to wonder why?
Thanks again for the assist. I'll get back to you when I make the gremlin appear!

Press the PrtScrn key on the keyboard. Open Windows Paint. Click Edit, Paste. Save the picture as your choice.

...so the picture can be linked to on the internet.

Hope this helps, too.
