Process Library is one of the most complete and informative free programs regarding running processes I've found. Small and simple to run. As far as I've been able to tell it is safe and reliable. If while running it you are confronted with any security warnings click OK or what ever is necessary to run. If your firewall confronts you with any warnings be sure to instruct it to remember your answer and click to allow. You must be connected to the Internet while Process Library is running. If when Process Library displays the results you need more information about a process, click on "Free registry scan".

Hope this is helpful.

I like WinPatrol

In reply to: Problem Number 2 - 51 processes running

It is a download, it stays in your Computer, You can get it from Download.com . The free version will identify all running processes, I have paid version, and that gives me online access to a database that will tell exactly what that process does, then recommends if you should keep, or disable. If you want to stop some process, WinPatrol will do that for you. I have been running WinPatrol for couple years, have never found a process that it could not stop. When I got mine, cost $25.oo for lifetime membership.
