problem installing/uninstalling iTunes

Sep 30, 2010 9:58AM PDT

My dad's system cannot download iTunes - it looks for a file called "iTunes.msi", and cannot find it. It DOES exist, in a hidden folder (Documents and Settings/Owner/Application Data/Apple Computer/Apple), but refuses to recognize the path as valid.
He encounters the same problem when trying to remove iTunes via the Add/Remove Programs utility on Control Panel - it wants this file, but calims the path is invalid.
His machine is Windows XP Home. HELP!

Restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly this time?
