Question

problem getting my samsang devices to connect to internet

Dec 28, 2014 9:36AM PST

I have a Samsung note 2 and a tab4, the internet connections work fine except where I work. At work, my devices say that they are connected but they don't actually work. The wifi ingoing/outgoing signal icon on the toolbar shows full connectivity, but the outgoing arrow does not appear. So, it seems it is getting the incoming internet signal but for some reason won't send an outgoing signal. How can i fix this?

I can only guess it's blocked at work or they use WEP which can do what you noted. Remember I will not guess it's some DNS since, well that would not happen with the stock settings.

I don't know how the work wifi is set up. If others connect, ask them.

Public wifi all connect, but until you agree to the terms of service, you can't really use the network. Typically you get a redirect to a webpage, check a tiny box and you are good to go. Watch the notification bar for the webpage...
